Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him, but was moved by Arthur's youthful happiness. So he offered him freedom, as long he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer; if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question was:

What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur it seemed an impossible query. Well, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everybody: the princess, the prostitutes, the priests, the wise men, and the court jester. In all, he spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

What most people did tell him was to consult the old witch, as only she would know the answer. The price would be high, since the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no alternative but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer his question, but he'd have to accept her price first: The old witch wanted to marry Gawain, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified: she was hunchbacked and awfully hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage water, often made obscene noises..Etc.

He had never run across such a repugnant creature. He refused to force his friend to marry her and have to endure such a burden.

Gawain, upon learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He told him that nothing was too big a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table. Hence, their wedding was proclaimed, and the witch answered Arthur's question: "What a woman really wants is to be able to be in charge of her own life."

Everyone instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared. And so it went. The neighboring monarch spared Arthur's life and granted him total freedom.

What a wedding Gawain and the witch had! Arthur was torn between relief and anguish. Gawain was proper as always, gentle and courteous. The old witch put her worst manners on display, and generally made everyone very uncomfortable. The wedding night approached: Gawain, steeling himself for a horrific night, entered the bedroom. What a sight awaited!

The most beautiful woman he'd ever seen lay before him! Gawain was astounded and asked what had happened. The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her (when she'd been a witch), half the time she would be her horrible, deformed self, and the other half, she would be her beautiful maiden self.

Which would he want her to be during the day and which during the night?

What a cruel question! Gawain began to think of his predicament: During the day a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his home, an old spooky witch? Or would he prefer having by day a hideous witch, but by night a beautiful woman to enjoy many intimate moments?

gah, re-reading old, -old- emails. Just got back from going out with Audra, Luke, Kevin and Steve for cosmic bowling. Played 3 1/2 games, and had a blast. Afterwards we went to Steak-N-Shake where I tried my best to swallow down a chocolate milkshake that was practically just solid ice-cream, whee! I did a good job of giving backseat directions so they could find everything alright. And it was hilarious to watch kevin and steve rev their engines to sort of tease Audra's non-supped up honda.

Why wasn't I driving? Well, my dad had to take his van in because his power steering or somesuch isn't working all to great, and since I had the day off... he took my car to work since his was still in the shop. >.<, evil.

I'm incredibly glad to be hanging out with Audra again. We are so similiar and have so much fun with each other. Even after roughly 3 years of awkward separation, the day we first met after that, we still got along so well. Turns out, our separation was just a bunch of misunderstanding and misinformation on both of our parts to a degree. All water under the bridge now, and onward we go! ^_^

Now, considering I have work at 9am... today, I'm going to get some sleep. Probably wont get alot, but it's damn better than nothing at all.

Since I've been reading all my old saved emails, and deleting most of them which are no longer important or valued, I might share some entertaining ones. Maybe to serve as filler, instead of a song, every now and then. Teehee.

Saturday night, I spend time with my friend Ashley for the most part of the day, go home and head to kohls to make sure what time I work on sunday. Sunday morning, I wake up with a sore throat and slightly throbbing headache. I go to work, get about a dozen "Oh, my, Sadie you're so pale... are you ok?" And two (jokingly of course) "You can only go home if you pass out." Needless to say, as my voice came and went during the entirety of the evening from a hoarse whisper to a low, painful croak, I managed to survive the evening.

Monday morning, I wake up feeling utterly, terribly miserable. Dad has me take my temperature; 100.2. He then has me call the doctor to make an appointment since there is alot of strep throat and other viruses going around lately. He calls Kohl's and tells them that I will not be in for work that day, that I will be going to the doctor instead, so I made sure to get a nice doctors note. They take a throat culture to analyse what I might have, and to see if it would be ok to perscribe antibiotics. Anywho, by the time I get to the doctor (called at 11am, appointment at 4pm) my fever raised to 100.6. So I spent the day bumming, drinking lots of tea and having lots of soup.

Tuesday morning, not so bad, but still felt awful. More of a pounding headache, congested nose/head, and sore stomach from coughing so much awful then a "Omg, I'm really sick, put me out of my misery!" Called in sick for work again, since I still had a moderate fever, and the doctors note covered both days. Had nothing but soup and tea again. Fun times.

It's now 11pm, (tuesday) and I am heading to bed. I get to sleep and look forward to going to school tomorrow, still sick but I have no choice otherwise.

She's "so sorry" and "will always care" blah blah Bullshit. If that were remotely true, she wouldn't have done -any- of the skeezy things she's done. Ok, I'm done. No more. She's not worth any of my time. She's already stolen enough for her selfishness.

I found the old jokes and letters that my brothers ex Roberta sent me. She always "took care" of me, and taught me all kinds of things. Sometimes things I never wanted to know about. I miss her, and deep down, I know she was the love of my brothers life thusfar. A little off her hinge, but then again.. so are all of his girlfriends. I just hope my brother watches himself, or he'll wind up with another kid. With his current "girlfriend" it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit.

So tonight was the mini-dinner party for Vitorrio. He quit Kohl's and today was his last time working, so we all went to TGIFriday's and had a blast. He's free now! As free as the wind blows, teehee. He starts work at Barnes and Nobles on sunday, and we've all agreed to go and harrass him at the mini-starbucks cafe he'll be at. Also, if Kohl's doesn't start playing their cards right, they might lose 3 more associates before summertime. Myself included >>. I mean, it's not really a bad job, and the co-workers are wonderful for the most part, it's just that the managers are too biased, bitter, and relentless. They bitch about how they don't have enough workers, then when they have the workers they don't give them hours, and are the sole reason why no one stays around for more than a few months at absolute most. Every now and then we get an odd exception. I was an exception. Anywho, after friday's we went to Melissa's house and played DDR until 2am, then decided it might be best if we all went back to our homes before our parents called the cops and filed missing person reports.

Now it's 3am, and I am not the least bit tired. I think I'm secretly waiting for Mine to message me. He's probably long asleep though. But you know what, I'll tell you a secret... *darts her eyes around suspiciously*... I love him. <3 Ok ok, it's not really much of a secret to those who know me best. But in him I have found something that is truly rare, and no one else can even claim to have even half of what we share.
